Why We Exist
A Hotel Should Feel Easy
AussieHotelPick began with a practical question: what if a hotel focused less on ceremony and more on helping guests settle into a place quickly? Broadbeach already has its own rhythm — warm weather, a coastline that shapes the day, a neighbourhood built around food, walking, shopping and evenings out — so the hotel did not need to compete with that character. It needed to support it.
That is why the experience starts with comfort rather than spectacle. Rooms are planned around how people actually use them: a generous bed, lighting that works at different times of day, storage that does not require a puzzle, a place to sit that is not the edge of the mattress, and bathrooms that feel calm and straightforward. Natural materials, warm stone, timber and muted green tones give the interiors a clear Australian identity without turning the coast into a visual theme.
Service follows the same logic. Help should be available when it is useful and unobtrusive when it is not. Guests can ask for practical support, local suggestions, information about facilities or accessibility, but the hotel is also easy to move through independently. The aim is to reduce friction rather than add layers of formality.
Shared spaces are equally important. The pool offers a slower place to spend the afternoon, the restaurant and bar carry the day from breakfast through to drinks, lounges provide quieter places to sit, and fitness facilities support guests who want to keep a familiar routine. Each area has a clear purpose, but none is designed to force a particular way of staying.
Broadbeach is the final part of the idea. The hotel is connected to the Gold Coast rather than insulated from it. Beaches, parks, dining, cafés, shopping and coastal walks remain part of the stay, and the property is intended to make those experiences easier to reach and easier to return from. Where the Idea Began

A Simple Idea
AussieHotelPick began with a desire to create accommodation that feels naturally aligned with the relaxed Queensland lifestyle. Instead of treating a hotel as a formal destination in itself, the idea was to build a place that helped guests enjoy the coast, the neighbourhood and their own time more easily. Comfort, calm and a strong sense of place became the first principles.

Finding the Right Balance
The experience took shape by combining comfortable rooms with the kinds of shared spaces that genuinely improve a stay: a pool, useful fitness facilities, relaxed dining, a bar and lounges that can shift between quiet and social. The balance was deliberate. Guests should have enough on the property to slow down without feeling that they need to spend the entire trip inside it.

Creating a Sense of Place
The visual language was shaped around Queensland light and landscape. Sandstone tones reference the coast, deep greens reflect subtropical planting, timber brings warmth and muted brass adds a small amount of contrast. Natural textures and open sightlines were chosen to feel current and Australian rather than imported from a generic resort aesthetic.
