2. Essential Storage
Essential storage supports functions that are necessary for the privacy-preference interface to work consistently. The website needs to remember that you have made a choice so that it does not repeatedly display the privacy banner on every visit.
The essential record is stored in your browser under the key aussiehotelpick_privacy_preferences. The record contains the date of the saved choice and the category selections made through the interface. Because this information is used to remember the privacy settings themselves, the Essential category is shown as always active and cannot be disabled through the on-page modal.
You can still remove essential localStorage by clearing site data through your browser. If you do this, the privacy banner may appear again the next time you visit because the website no longer has a saved record of your previous choice.
3. Preference Storage
The Preferences category is intended for optional settings that can make the website experience more convenient without being necessary for the page to function. Examples could include remembering selected interface options, display preferences or other non-essential choices introduced in future versions of the site.
At present, the Preferences toggle is available in the privacy modal so that the website has a clear structure for optional preference storage. Selecting or deselecting it changes the saved privacy-preference object in localStorage. No separate preference technology is currently activated solely because this category is enabled.
If additional preference features are introduced, this section should be updated to identify what is stored, why it is stored and how long the relevant preference is expected to remain.
4. Analytics
Optional analytics tools are not currently active on AussieHotelPick.com. The Analytics toggle is included so visitors can express a choice if analytics functionality is introduced in the future, but enabling the category does not currently start a separate analytics service.
Analytics services can, depending on their configuration, measure page visits, navigation paths, device characteristics, approximate location, referring pages, interaction events and performance information. If AussieHotelPick introduces analytics technology, the service should be configured so that the website's privacy controls are respected, and this policy should be updated with information about the provider and the relevant data practices.
Until such an integration is activated, AussieHotelPick does not intentionally place analytics cookies through its own privacy settings.
5. Marketing
Marketing cookies and advertising technologies are not currently active on AussieHotelPick.com. The Marketing category is available in the privacy interface for future use if advertising, campaign measurement, remarketing or similar optional technologies are introduced.
Marketing technologies can be more privacy-sensitive because they may connect browsing activity across pages or services. If such technologies are added, they should remain separate from essential functions, should not be activated merely because a visitor needs to use the website, and should be described clearly in an updated version of this policy.
At present, selecting the Marketing toggle only changes the preference record stored in localStorage; it does not activate a marketing platform.
6. Third-Party Embedded Services
Some website features are delivered using resources hosted by third parties. The current site includes Font Awesome resources and an embedded Google Maps frame. Depending on deployment choices, font resources may also be loaded from an external provider.
When your browser loads a third-party resource, it makes a direct request to that provider. The provider may receive information such as your IP address, browser details, the address of the page requesting the resource and the time of the request. A provider may also use cookies, local storage or other identifiers according to its own policies and your browser settings.
AussieHotelPick's on-page privacy settings control the categories implemented by this website. They cannot guarantee that every third-party service will behave as if it were a first-party script. Visitors can use browser privacy controls or content blockers if they want additional restrictions on third-party requests.
7. Google Maps
The Contact page contains an embedded Google Maps view of Broadbeach, Queensland. The map is loaded inside an iframe and is provided by Google. Opening the page or interacting with the map may cause your browser to connect to Google services.
Google may use cookies or similar technologies for map delivery, security, preferences and other purposes described in its own documentation. The availability and behaviour of those technologies can depend on your browser, Google account status, location and privacy settings. AussieHotelPick does not control cookies set directly by Google.
If you do not want to load the map, you can avoid the embedded frame or use browser-level controls that block third-party content. The rest of the Contact page remains available as standard website content.
8. Your Cookie Choices
When no saved preference exists, the website displays a Privacy Preferences panel. You can choose Accept All, Reject Optional or Manage Preferences. Accept All saves Essential, Preferences, Analytics and Marketing as allowed. Reject Optional leaves only Essential active. Manage Preferences allows you to set optional categories individually.
Because Analytics and Marketing integrations are not currently active, accepting those categories does not by itself cause analytics or advertising cookies to be placed. The selection is nevertheless stored so that the website can respect the stated choice if those functions are connected in a later release and the implementation is configured accordingly.
Your browser can provide additional controls, including blocking all cookies, blocking third-party cookies, clearing data when the browser closes, or creating exceptions for selected websites.
9. Changing Your Preferences
You can change your AussieHotelPick privacy selections at any time by choosing Cookie Settings in the website footer. This reopens the settings modal and shows the categories available on the site. After you save a new selection, the existing localStorage preference record is replaced with the updated settings.
You can also remove the record outside the website by clearing localStorage or site data in your browser. Exact menu names differ between browsers and devices. After the record is removed, the website will generally treat your next visit as a new privacy-preference session and show the banner again.
Changing a browser-stored preference does not automatically erase data that a third-party provider may already have processed under its own systems. Requests relating to a third-party service should be handled according to that provider's privacy tools and policies.
10. Policy Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the website adds, removes or changes storage technologies, embedded services or privacy-control behaviour. The revision date shown at the top of this page indicates the current published version.
If optional analytics, marketing, booking or personalisation tools are introduced, the relevant sections should be revised before or at the time those tools become active so visitors can understand the technology and make an informed choice.
